England v Argentina

Old Mutual Wealth Series - Autumn Internationals 2017

Saturday 11th November - Twickenham - Kick Off 3pm GMT

Well it is November so it must be Autumn International time together with Movember Moustaches.

England take on the Pumas at Twickenham in the first of this year's Autumn Internationals, with injuries a plenty.   England have played Argentina in 22 test matches and have won seventeen.  The summer tour series was a close run thing on the first match 38-34 and the second 35-25 but to be fair again the team were depleated because of the Lions Tour.

England's Jonny May, Joe Launchbury and Marcus Smith have all picked up minor injuries during the warm-weather training in Portugal.  Let's hope Jonny May who is in good form can make at least one of the Autumn Internationals.

"This is our best 23 selected in what is our most important game this year," said Eddie JonesWe know that Argentina is a strong team - Rugby World Cup semi finalists in 2015 – and we will have to be smart and play well to beat them.”

At this point in time you can still obtain single tickets for this match  Link here

Hopefully a good enough side to win. Are Itoje and Farrell injured or rested/rotated I wonder. Hartley really is hanging on by a thread now, presumably for his leadership. We need to find a new captain to enable the best players in their positions to be selected!

Thanks Kath, I thought maybe so as Eddie had planned to give the Lions players a break. I’m guessing that will be on a rotation basis as a number of the other Lions players are involved.

What’s your match forecast? I reckon England by 15. Feeling upbeat!

Oh I think it will be a nervy start to be honest, we should win but it might take a while to settle. We could win by 10 or if they all turn up a criket score ..........we shall see smiling smiley

You were nearer the fact at least on the performance! We will need to improve a lot on that next week.

Some of our team just didn’t turn up. The centre pairing didn’t work and George Kruis just didn’t play at all. He hasn’t been the same since his return from injury last season. With Hartley I think, IMO, that the set piece is a lot more solid than without him.

Sure there were poor individual performances, quite a few really. But the overall lack of intensity and inability for anyone to drive the team on was worrying.
