First of all we hope you all had a good New Year!
England on the other hand took a huge body blow in the shape of Matt Stevens's positive dope test given following the Heineken Cup match against Glasgow Warriors in December 2008. RFU statement on Matt Stevens We wish Matt well and hope he gets on the road to recovery soon but fear his sure to be looking at a lengthy ban on this matter.
We also had the PRL and RFU sparring up again, when will it ever end one wonders, no doubt never! All the gory details here....

England manager Martin Johnson has called the uncapped Northampton full-back or scrum-half Ben Foden into his elite squad for the 2009 Six Nations. Gloucester full-back Olly Morgan is also included, while the experienced Mike Tindall and Mark Cueto return.

The England Under 18s squad to compete in this season's Six Nations Festival has been announced. The squad of 26 players has been selected from the Rugby Football Union's Regional Academy system and includes 12 players who ran out for the Under 18s side last season in either the Six Nations Festival or the Development Tour to Argentina. Paul Hull will be back on England duty this month after being appointed England Saxons Assistant Coach. Formerly a Physical Training Instructor with the RAF (1985-95), Paul won four caps for England in 1994, having previously represented the RAF, Combined Services, England Colts, England B, England A (whom he captained on the 1995 tour to Fiji) and the Barbarians.
