With just two rounds of the league season to go I'm starting to get the same sort of feeling that comes around Christmas time.  That's to say there is a real sence of nervous anticipation.  Will the meal being served up and the presents given meet hopes and expectations?  We'll soon know with the first course due to be served up at Sandy Park when Wasps come a calling.  Hopefully this will be enjoyed by all and we can move onto the second course when Chiefs travel to Quins.  Whether we'll need to book a table at Sandy Park, the Ricoh or heavan forfend Allianz Park for the third will then be known.  And hopefully we'll then adjourn to Twickenham for the main course.  So that's it, win three games and we can fight to see who deserves pudding.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter before the Aviva Premiership match at The Ricoh Arena, Coventry.

Here's the Chiefs squad

15 Phil Dollman
14 Jack Nowell
13 Henry Slade
12 Ian Whitten
11 Olly Woodburn
10 Gareth Steenson (capt)
9 Will Chudley

1 Ben Moon
2 Luke Cowan-Dickie
3 Harry Williams
4 Mitch Lees
5 Geoff Parling
6 Dave Ewers
7 Julian Salvi
8 Don Armand

16 Jack Yeandle 17 Alec Hepburn 18 Carl Rimmer 19 Damian Welch 20 Thomas Waldrom 21 Dave Lewis 22 Sam Hill 23 James Short

It's really good to see Dolly back to marshall the troops from deep as I think we've missed his ability to read the game in both defence and attack.  I can't think that we could put out a better backline and with Sam Hill and James Short back on the bench there's plenty of attacking potentila to bring on later in the game.  Rob Baxter has gone for a very mobile forward pack with the luxury of bringing on The Tank and Giraffe on Steroids into the fray once the game moves into it's later stages.  No weaknessess there and I'm really looking forward to packed Sandy Park roaring on the team.  I'll be in The Library as usual but with the addition of my new 'unamplified' drum.

Thanks Moorsman

Great article / post (Sm152) - the only trouble is... along with the great sense of anticipation you've so finely described - I've now got that tune going round and round my head (Sm23)

Get on Exe - 🩵🤍🖤
