Friday nights win should not have come as too much a surprise as the Chiefs have only lost 2 (drawn 1) of their 9 away games and they gained a losing bonus point on both occassions. It was also the fourth try bonus point from these 9 matches. Strangely enough it's the home form that's been a little patchy with just 4 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses. However Chiefs have only failed to take a bonus point from one match at Sandy Park this season with 6 TBP and 1 LBP being gained. Recently they've been scoring tries for fun and look to be a very confident bunch of players. Even when they go behind there's a steely determination about their work added to some incredible fitness.
The five remaining games are:-
Saturday 25th March | Sharks (H)
Saturday 8th April | Bristol (H)
Friday 14th April | Quins (A)
Saturday 29th April | Saints (H)
Saturday 6th May | Glaws (A) |
The Saints game would look to be the toughest on paper as they don't concede many tries and we seem to like to get into an arm wrestle with them when we play them. Having said this Quins and Glaws away aren't easy prospects but I think we're playing well enough to come away with a win from both.
Chiefs look nailed on for a top four spot and the only question is whether we can make sure it's a home semi. Although given our away form I'm sure we'd have a decent chance wherever we end up playing. Having said this it would be great to have Sandy Park packed to the rafters with The Library it's usual quiet self!
