Glaws go second after vital Kingsholm win

Tinds - good game

Earlier in the season, Gloucester might not have held on to beat Saracens as they did at Kingsholm for a vital GP victory on Saturday. It was a case of two players called Olly calling the tune for Glaws as Olly Morgan's latest try and 17 points from the boot of Olly Barkley made sure of a 22-16 win that puts the side in second place in the table.

Olly Barkley pen v SarriesIt was a tense game, and not without more bad news on the injury front for Glaws as Lesley Vainikolo was stretchered off with an achilles tendon injury.
But Dean Ryan's theory that his tam are in good form as they got into the second half of the season is looking good so far.
Glaws were trailing 16-13 at half-time, but Barkley's three second-half penalties saw them home infront of an encouraging crowd of 16,500.
Asked about the form of skipper Mike Tindall, coach Ryn told the BBC: "Mike's been strong in the last couple of weeks around the gain-line and his defence was outstanding. "He is growing in confidence but whether he returns to the England squad is someone else's decision."
Ryan's perfectly accurate summing up of Tindal's defensive form helps prove that the statistics some people think are important can be misleading, because some figures show that Tindall's tackle rate is poor.
Saracens allegedly didn't ply as well as they had a week earlier when they beat London Irish, but you can only play as well as you are allowed to and Glaws deserve praise for their performance.
The pack did well, and the backs threatened when they could on a rock-hard pitch.
Not a classic, but at this strage it's results that count and this win could prove to be vital.
