Youthful Encounter

Glaws and Exeter could both be looking to give youth its head for the first game in the LV=Cup, which takes plasce at the home of the holders and at the traditional time of 3.00 on Saturday - now there's a rarity ....

Exeter coach Rob Baxter says he will go for a mix of Academy and reserve players -  bolstered by the return from injury of skipper Dean Mumm and hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie.

The Chiefs are currently enjoying the dizzy height of third place in the Premiership, and would dearly love to be there come play-off time so there's little danger of them risking front-line players.

That's not quite the same situation  for Glaws where the squad is still getting to know each other and the more game-time the better - provided its injury free. David Humphrets and Co could choose to give some of the regular first-teamers some game time.

There is also the small matter of avenging the 25-22 league defeat at Kingsholm a few weeks ago.
