Halaifonua Red

By Cherry Picker
November 9 2015

We certainly seem to have an element of Spheksophobia*  about us. On a greasy pitch we just couldn't get our A game going and the red card for a high shoulder for David Halaifonua early in the second half certainly didn't help.

There's no arguments about the card as he took lock Bradley Davies out.

Wasps won't have any arguments either about the punch on Billy Twelvetrees which saw prop Lorenzo Cittadini exit .

That came too late to change the game as Wasps ran out 22-3 winners with too much ease. Points came mainly from the boot of Elliot Daly with Christian Wade stepping inside our midfield to score his try in some style in the first half. At first it looked too easy but TV replays showed it was actually a bit of class.

Our best spell came when the half backs were changed with Heinz and Hook talking over from Laidlaw and Purdy.

We were unlucky as Wasps were penalized as the  forwards looked certain to drive over from a scrum. Heinz reacted quickly and was just stopped short with Twelvetres then not only stopped but robbed of the ball. Summed the day up really.

* Fear of Wasps but you probably worked that out.
