West Country rugby needs Bristol to stop up although that opinion was somewhat tempered when they were leading 6-0 at half time at Kingsholm. Fortunately normal service was restored after the break with three excellent tries and a penalty try earning Glaws a bonus point in a 26-18 win ..
One Brizzle supporter claimed that penalty tries don't count in the reckoning when it comes to bonus points - but you could forgive him for being a bit woolly on that subject.
His side went into that lead at the break thanks to the boot of Jason Woodward.
The half time bollocking did wonders with Matt Scott going over virtually form the restart when Bristol lost the ball on their own line-out, and we were off and running.
Willi Heinz snaffled the next one when the ball went loose from a scrum
There was little argument with the penalty try when Bristol deliberately pulled a maul down and then Henry Purdy crossed after Bristol had a try disallowed for blocking - we were looking good for more.
Credit to to the visitors though as they kept on fighting and got two late tries when Jack Wallace collected a cross kick followed by a very late one for Luke Arscott.
Up to eighth now above Saints and level on points with Falcons and Quins. Next up La Rochelle on Thursday which means you will have to do your Xmas shopping this weekend.
