Bounce Back?

Williams

By New Cherry
October 6 2017

A massive reaction to last week's embarassing defeat at Sharks is required this week. A decent win against high flying Saints will get the season back on track and the Shed onside .. here's hoping.

There are not that many changes as Johann Ackermann strives to find a regular winning winning formula.

Most notable is the inclusion of Owen Williams at fly half - the first time he has started since joining. He came on at Sale last week and is the  only change in the backs.

A few more in the pack, perhaps not surprising,  where John Afoa, Tom Savage and Jacob Rowan return and  Gareth Denman, Jeremy Thrush and Freddie Clarke losing out.

Saints arrive on top of the league with Falcons and will more than facny their chances against a Glaws side which can turn it on (a la Exteer) and not ( a la Sale). Which Cherry and Whites side will turn up? Kick off a good old 3.00 on Saturday.

Gloucs: 15. Jason Woodward; 14. Henry Purdy, 13. Henry Trinder, 12. Billy Twelvetrees, 11. David Halaifonua; 10. Owen Williams, 9. Willi Heinz (captain); 1. Val Rapava Ruskin, 2. Richard Hibbard, 3. John Afoa; 4. Tom Savage, 5. Ed Slater; 6. Lewis Ludlow, 7. Jacob Rowan, 8. Ruan Ackermann

Reps: Motu Matu'u,  Josh Hohneck,  Gareth Denman,  Jeremy Thrush, Freddie Clarke,  Ben Vellacott, Billy Burns, Tom Hudson

Saints recall Dylan Hartley who will lead the side while he's on the field.

Saints: 15 Ahsee Tuala, 14 George North, 13 Luther Burrell, 12 Piers Francis, 11 Tom Collins, 10 Harry Mallinder, 9 Cobus Reinach, 1 Alex Waller, 2 Dylan Hartley (captain), 3 Kieran Brookes, 4 Michael Paterson, 5 David Ribbans, 6 Jamie Gibson, 7 Teimana Harrison, 8 Sam Dickinson.

Reps: Mikey Haywood,Francois van Wyk, Jamal Ford-Robinson,Api Ratuniyarawa, Courtney Lawes, Alex Mitchell, Stephen Myler, Ben Foden
