Let's Do It Again

Thank goodness this week's game is live on BT Sport. A long Fiday night haul to Northumberland in the depths of winter is not an ideal fixture for travelling supporters and you can guarantee that after last Fiday night's incredible game plenty of people will want to watch - even neutrals.

Quite how Glaws pulled that 2317 win out of the bag is amazing. It felt like the whole of the first half was a siege and Sarrries will be studying the video to try to work out how they didn't cross the whtewash in that time.

The answer, of coruse, is tremendous defence. It provided the platform for  some superb attacking rugby in  the second half as trhe Cherry and Whites showed how to finish.

Skipper Willi Heinz was magnificent marshalling his defence, but when he went off replacmenet Ben Vellacott got the attack going with some real energy and vision. Tries from Ollie Thorley and Tom Hudson ultimately secured what had looked an unlikely victory.

This was the game of the proverbial two halves and neither of them affected by the elements.

Galws will have learned a lot about themselves. The lads now need to do it on an away trip and this Friday presents the perfect opportunity.

What do you mean "depths of winter"? The forecast is overnight frosts and wintry showers so pretty mild for Northumberland.
