Tough Trip

Purdy

By New Cherry
November 23 2017

What a league this is this season. The Cherry and Whites travel to take on a Newcastle Falcons side who have some notable scalps this season but sit in ninth place - unbelievably just four points from fourth place.

You could throw a scrum cap over the middle of this league. After eight games we have Tigers in third place with 26 points very closely followed by Bath and Glaws, Wasps, Quins, Saints and the Falcons who have 20.

So whoever wins at Kingston Park will rocket themselves up the league.

We make a handful of changes for the trip with Henry Purdy on the wing in place of the injured Henry Trinder. In the pack James Hanson, Jeremy Thrush and Jake Polledri takeover from Richard Hibbard, Ed Slater and Freddie Clarke.

It's on telly again, which spares the faithful having to get their huskies and sleds out, and let's hope for another thriller. However, first and foremost we need a win against a side which has only lost one game at home. We will be bouyed by the way we came back against Sarries last week.

Gloucs: 15. Tom Hudson; 14. Henry Purdy, 13. Andy Symons, 12. Billy Twelvetrees, 11. Ollie Thorley; 10. Billy Burns, 9. Willi Heinz (captain); 1. Josh Hohneck, 2. James Hanson, 3. John Afoa; 4. Tom Savage, 5. Jeremy Thrush; 6. Jake Polledri, 7. Lewis Ludlow, 8. Ruan Ackermann

Reps: Richard Hibbard, Paddy McAllister, Gareth Denman,  Ed Slater,  Freddie Clarke,  Ben Vellacott,  Lloyd Evans,  Mark Atkinson
