Lessons To Be Learned

Exeter Chiefs have devised a way of winning which we can learn from. They were missing mroe internationals than we were but still produced a team performance which earned them the 20-6 victory.

That was despite Glaws going into a 6-0 lead, looking the better side in the first half AND shading the stats with almost 60 per cent possession and spending more than half the gane in the Chiefs half.

But it's what you do with the ball that matters and for once Danny Cipriani was caught out -Danny Cuthbert scoring from long range when he intercepted Danny's pass  - by which time Chiefs had scored a late first half try rom a line-out.

Danny was replaced by Owen Williams  with 30 minutes to go denying him the chance to put matters right - a brave call by Johann Akermann but one which didn't produce the result he hoped for.

So we had enough of the game to have won. But we failed to score a try. We must learn from that.
