Bring on Sarries

Banahan

It was third v bottom but as we feared Falcons came a fighting and showed that the Premiership is more of a level playing field these days than ever. We have Matt Banahan's intercerption to thank for the final score of 28-19 which sees us more than likely to face Sarries in the play-off while Falcons are now officially a Championship club next season.

Falcons got a great start when Alex Dunbar made a brerak with Michael Young finishing but we cme back and were worth the 21-12 half time lead with Cipriani running the sjhow.

He sent in Woodward then crossed himself followed by Charlie Sharples.

Falcons made a more than creditable fight of it in the second half, and we fought desperately on our line to keep them out. Jaco Kriel went to the bin but they eventually crossed through McGuigan - at 21-19 we needed to get our act together.

Fortunately, Banahan made the vital intercept to run down the pitch to cement third place and  break Geordie hearts.

Saracens’ fan. Thought your travelling support was great yesterday. Nice to see fans who enjoy banter and a laugh.
