Quins v Leeds game rescheduled - it's a double header
By Prof
March 8 2010
Harlequins are pleased to announce the details of the re-arrange Leeds Carnegie fixture.
The Twickenham Stoop will host a double header on Saturday 10th April when Harlequin FC take on Leeds Carnegie in the Guinness Premiership (2pm KO) followed by Harlequins Rugby League v Saint Helens in the Engage Super League (5:30pm KO).

Season ticket holders at both clubs and existing ticket holders for either match will be entitled to enjoy a fantastic double bill of rugby.

The day begins with the rescheduled Guinness Premiership fixture, Harlequins v Leeds Carnegie, which was originally due to be played in January but was postponed due to the weather.

This will be followed by Harlequins Rugby League’s round 11 Super League match against last year’s Grand Finalists, St Helens.

Season ticket holders for both clubs can watch their respective match from their usual seat and will be allocated a second ticket and seat for the other match.  They will be written to separately with the ticketing arrangements, as well as though that have purchased tickets for the original Leeds Carnegie match and those that have purchased for the St Helens match.

Is it before or after the RL game?

Just updated the story - it's before, the RL game is at 6

One way to boost the RL average attendance, if they include the Union STH.

I wonder if that means they'll wait to have the band until after the RL lot have finished.

HSBC - you're a RL aficionado - what's the feeling like between Leeds and St Helens? Will any St Helens fans that come down want to cheer for us?

I would be very surprised if the band was on at the end of our game. I suspect that will happen at the end of the RL game, by which time I'll be somewhere else.

And yes, an obvious ploy to massage the attendance figures.

At least we're on first.

I suppose this is an attempt to help the RL boys get some atmosphere at the Stoop.

Looks like an admin nightmare but a positive step.

Prof,

In my experience, I'd be very surprised if more than a handful of Saints fans made it to the RL game. Saints fans are a hardcore bunch and generally have no time for Union. I'd imagine that if any did come down, they would either unite with Leeds as a north v south thing or cheer us on as Leeds and Saints have fought hard against each other lately for the top slots.

Saints have one of the biggest travelling fans sections and the noise they make is something to behold.

I personally welcome this opportunity to watch the RL. It's free so those who don't want to see it are free to leave.

RESPECT THE REF - NO REF, NO GAME!

I doubt many Saints fans will leave home at 9.30 in order to get a coach or train to watch our union game, what is more likely is Leeds fans staying on to watch the league game.

Yeah, they love their rugby league up in Leeds so surely they'll stay for the game..but who will they cheer for?

Quins for sure, as St Helens are a threat, Quins aren't.
