Friday nights are hopeless for me. Shame as I would definitely have enjoyed it. They can't be expecting a big crowd as they would never have been allowed to stage it on a Friday in the Twickenham area.

Do you mean the Middlesex 7s that are held over the road at the Big Stoop? They are on August 15 and have a crowd of about 40/50, 000.

Apparently on Friday 16th July at the Stoop.

The was some info the other week on the GP site. Since then total silence. I think it was part of a series around the country and we were going to entertain the other "London" GP clubs.

The offy is only selling tickets in the Etihad stand. Does this mean that the Stoop will be fairly empty?

When the club are not expecting a particularly large crowd, they normally open up one stand first and then depending on numbers of tickets sold, they can open other areas of the ground as necessary. It makes the operational side a bit easier with stewarding etc. Not sure if this is still the case but they used to do this with QuinsRL.

That said I don’t think there will be a very big turnout being a Friday evening - I'm only able to go as I work a short distance away in Kingston and can go straight from work...

I'm thinking of moseying down ... that is, if other domestic issues do not overtake me in the meantime, in which case I shall probably try and find the ESPN channel on my cable system.

Have I gone bonkers, or did I read somewhere that STHs can get in free? I haven't received mine yet, not that the price (or lack of it) is actually going to affect a decision to attend one way or the other.

Does anyone know the intended format on the night and/or the schedule of games? Presumably there'll be other things going on between games, simply to give the guys recovery time ... or is it just a case of "see you in the bar" ...?

If you're a STH you have to ring the ticket office and request the tickets. I guess this helps them know how big a crowd to expect.

Ring 0871 527 1315. "Press 1 for rugby union, press 2 for rugby league...". When you've been on hold for a few minutes you'll arbitrarily be sent back to the beginning of the whole shebang, and start you again. (Obviously I landed on a snake!). After doing it all again, you actually get the ticket office second time round.

Pinkernel,

Yes - ST holders are entitled to a complimentary ticket but you need to contact the ticket office to arrange this. They might just have time to send you your ticket or else you could arrange to pick it up on the night. There aren't many other details although I did read somewhere that there is entertainment so there may be a band in the Kings bar - but don't quote me on that!
