Ungainly looking runner who was deceptively fast, his lineout work was very strong too.

Great athlete. Once described as a freak (in a nice way) by Tigers conditioning guys when asked re his focused training regime/body fat/type of player he was.

Struggled a bit to put mass on apparently but it didn't stop him being a phenomenal athlete and a much under-rated rugby player outside Leicester.

A joy to watch. A great player whose career has been cut too, too short.

I know their fans never liked him because he kept their bloke out for years but he didn't half heap a whole load of pain on Harlequins didn't he?

Good as those reels are, the line out certainty on our ball and the number of steals had a massive impact on our success

Agreed on both points. But it was a view much more widely held among their number than elsewhere. And I understand why. I just think there's a degree of poetic justice in the things he did to them.

At his peak the best lineout forward in the world imo. But for me that's really the point - I think Robshaw is a very fine player (though I don't think he should have been England captain and his reputation is tarnished by association with the wasted Lancaster media spun years) but he could never have been the player Crofty was in the lineout, nor could he have done what Tom did in the wider channels. Yes he was a little more effective at the breakdown but not enough to compensate.
