Supporters Club new season

The Supporters Club would like to welcome back all members of the Dragons Den for the new Season

The new season is nearly upon us once again and last night saw the 37th AGM of the Supporters Club, if anyone would like a copy of the minutes then please visit the Supporters Club website here

We would like to thank both Steve and Rob Lewis for attending and the informative insight that they gave to both this year's recruiting process and the dynamics within the playing squad and coaching set-up.

We would also especially like to thank and welcome Janet Patterson, who has agreed to join the committee this year. Janet and her husband Noel have been longstanding supporters, of London welsh for over 15 years, and Janet's knowledge of the club together with her fresh outlook will be a great asset to the committee and it will be particularly great to have input from a female point of view.

Supporters Club membership is now due for renewal and we welcome subscriptions from both existing and past members as well as anyone new.

For those who automatically  renew via direct debit or standing order, or who have already renewed their membership, thank you for your continuing support it's very much appreciated.

Membership is still only £10 and all of your money goes towards supporting the London Welsh family all the way from the minis right up to the 1st XV.

As well as supporting our teams The London Welsh Supporters Club provides for its members; discounted travel to away fixtures and selected Wales home internationals in Cardiff and arranges regular social events in Richmond to join please contact  or visit our website for a membership form or find us at the supporters club table in the clubhouse on match days, where we can take payments by cash or cards

Alternatively you can sign up online by visiting our website here

Away Match Travel

Once again the supporters club will be running buses to as many away matches as possible. However last year, over the season, the buses ran at a considerable loss and whilst we consider this to be one of the most important things we do each season and don't in any way expect it to be a profit making exercise, we can't continue to keep sustaining the losses we have been suffering year on year. With that in mind we have decided that we will be targeting certain trips throughout the season with other buses only running if there is sufficient interest, to try and keep our losses down to an acceptable level.

Some of these issues have been compounded in the past with all too frequent no-shows, and whilst we do realise that there are sometimes circumstances beyond ones control all we ask is for as much notice as possible if you are unable to travel.

This is something the committee is going to look at, as a matter of urgency, followed by consultation with the members in an effort to improve the situation and enable us to run buses to as many matches as possible.

With that in mind only if there is enough interest will we be running a bus to our opening game against Rotherham on Sunday 4th September. If anyone is interested in travelling on this bus, please make sure that you contact or call the hotline on either 07426 937103 or 07900 411952, by Sunday 28th August, otherwise this bus won't run.

At this stage all that remains is to wish James Buckland, the coaching staff and players the best of luck for the forthcoming season, as always we are right behind you.

Very best wishes

London Welsh Supporters Club
