1st XV Oppo 2017/18 - Revised

By Dragons' Den

With the league fixtures out, a change to the expected HM1 teams and the 1st XV being confirmed as the 1st XV, the opposition round-up needed a little tweak. Here is version 2....

The eleven teams teams are:

Bank of England
Back to HM1 having won both phases of the HM2 season and not too far from ODP! Bank of England Sports Centre, Bank Lane, SW15 5JQ
4th Nov - Away, 3rd March - Home

Barnet
7th in HM1 at the end of the 16/17 season. A visit in January is bound to mean lots of mud! Byng Road, EN5 4NP
7th Oct - Home, 27th Jan - Away

Hendon
In the mix for relegation until the last couple of weeks of the season but did enough in the end to finish 8th. Just a stone's throw from Allianz Park at Copthall. Greenlands Lane, NW4 1RL
23rd Sept  - Away, 6th Jan - Home

London French
Finished 3rd place in the league but some 10pts behind 2nd. Matches played at Barn Elms. Queen Elizabeth Walk, SW13 9SA
11th Nov - Home, 10th March  - Away

Old Actonians
Local rivals and a strong LW connection through Florent Rossigneux. 9th place in 16/17. Gunnerbury Drive. W5 4LL
25th Nov - Away, 24th March - Home

Royston
The longest away trip of the season but a lovely location when the sun is out! 4th place in 16/17. Baldock Road, SG8 9NU
9th Dec - Home, 7th April  - Away

Saracens
Still based at their traditional home of Bramley Sports Ground in Southgate. Finished in 6th this season, one place and 7pts behind LW. Green Road, N14 4AB
21st Oct - Away, 3rd Feb - Home

Staines
A tough season in London 3 NW saw Staines pick up just 2 wins during the season. Will be looking to rebuild and get off to a flying start. The Reeves, Snakey Lane, TW13 7NB
16th Sept - Home, 16th Dec - Away

UCS Old Boys
Circumstances higher up in the league structure saved UCSONB from relegation despite finishing last in HM1. After a challenging start to 2016/17 they improved in the second half of the season, including a 28-15 win at ODP. As their ground is currently undergoing a £10m redevelopment the location for their 17/18 fixtures is to be confirmed.
30th Sept - Away, 13th Jan  - Home

Wasps FC
After escaping relegation on the last day of the season Wasps will be looking to regroup and are likely to be a much tougher proposition this year. Twyford Avenue Sports Ground, W3 9QA
28th Oct - Home, 17th Feb - Away

Watford
4th in HM2 Phase 1 and 2nd in Phase 2 was enough to get Watford into HM1. Radlett Road, WD24 4LL
9th Sept - Away, 14th April - Home
