Neath versus Swansea

The Neath team to play Swansea in the Welsh League, at St Helens, on Friday 27th December, kick off at 19.05pm will be selected from the following squad: -

Adrian Durston, Kevin James, James Storey, Dave Tiueti, Shane Williams, Lee Jarvis, Andy Moore, Patrick Horgan, Shaun Connor, Brett Sinkinson, Steve Tandy, Alfie Mocelutu, Rowland Phillips, Gareth Llewellyn (c), Steve Martin, Andy Newman, Adam Jones, Steve Jones, Duncan Jones, Paul James, Barry Williams, Andrew Millward.

Quote from Assistant Coach, Kevin George:-

"We are being extremely cautious in approaching this game after the events of last season. Swansea are a dangerous side, full of internationals and I have no doubt that they will click at some point this season. We are expecting a dogfight, and although we are playing well at the moment I am sure they will be up for this local derby".

Quote from Assistant Coach, Rowland Phillips:-

"I am sure that Swansea will be looking to build confidence against us on Friday evening. They have a squad which is full of class players, but so far this season they have been deprived of the quality performances you would expect from these players, either through form or injury. We will not take their lack of form for granted, as towards the end of last season we went to St Helens with all guns blazing and lost. Neath against Swansea is always a special occasion and this match will be no different".

Have I missed out any ex - Neath players that are currently in the Swansea squad? They've got a lot of our rejects haven't they.

A few comments from Swansea fans after they discover the starting line - up

Fergal - Probably the strongest XV we have, injury problems are starting to dry up now too, time to be optimistic I feel. New Year, time to get back to the good old Swansea.

Whites fan - Yessss, no Matthew Robinson.

And Kevin's back, that's the strongest back line we've had for a while, hopefully the forwards will pull their weight.
