Interview with Jon Clarke
By COYSDC
April 11 2007
COYS caught up with JC as he was preparing for tonight’s Wanderers fixture against Sale. Ready to go, but apprehensive, he told us how it is

COYS John – Welcome back – it’s been a long time! I understand you’re playing for the Wanderers tonight.

JC Yes – since 4th September last year! I’m down to play tonight. It’s strange because I know I’ll be knackered, it will be hard work and I’ll feel sick!

COYS Will you have any special protection?

JC Yes I’ll wear an ankle board. It’s still quite stiff, but I really am looking forward to it.

COYS Where did you have the operation done?

JC At the Three Shires. Together with a number of others, I feel as if I have my own room there!

COYS 7 months out is long time – how did you fill your time?

JC Well, there’s plenty to do – apart from team meetings, training, extra training, hanging with the guys. Although you need to be careful, you have bags of energy – they don’t, so you sometimes have to stand back a bit, which can be frustrating!

COYS The club has got into a poor position while you have been away, how was it, having to watch that without playing?

JC Well it's difficult – we let things go a lot. loads of possession but unable to convert it to points, the guys are really frustrated. Other teams have been living off our mistakes, but we are determined to keep at it.

COYS If the worst were to happen – you have a year on your contract – will you stay?

JC That’s not my call, but if the club wants me to stay – I want to stay.

COYS And finally John – here’s the warm weather – what are your plans for the summer?

JC TRAINING – A LOT OF RUNNING – TRAINING and SPEED!!

COYS John – Thank you very much - and good luck tonight!
