Pirates come to Brickfields in the British and Irish Cup this weekend and information on Max Levene Day at North Tawton.

Albion v Pirates

Warriors v Rosslyn Park
2:30pm?

Max Levene Day
@ North Tawton
Sunday

It is unclear if the Park match against Devonport will go ahead on the top pitch with  but if I hear anything either way I will publish this information.

The Redruth match planned for Sunday I have been told is off, this match was arranged at the beginning of the season and fixture congestion has probably ruled this fixture out.

Max Levene Day
14th February

If you are looking for something to do on Sunday then why not try out the events at North Tawton.

The Max Levene day on Sunday will give you the opportunity to see three matches between Devon, Cornwall and Bristol Ladies at North Tawton RFC, with K.Os. set for 1:30, 2:30 and 3:30. Thanks to the support of North Tawton RFC, who have made no charge for the event and helped considerably in the organisation, the gates will be open from noon and all are very welcome.

The bar will be open and food available to give a good start the afternoon, with lots of memorabilia and other gifts donated to the cause there will be a grand raffle and an auction to follow the rugby in the evening.

Max is the 17 year old who damaged his back in a tragic accident playing for Truro College last year he is still in Odstock Hospital and expected to be there until May.

This event has plenty of support from around the country due to listings on RuckU.com with founder of the site Will Carling providing support and England memorabilia and a personal message to be read out on the night.

For more information on Max and his progress check out the Truro College website LINK>>

Truro College is managing the fund and are in the process of setting up an online method for donations, via the Justgiving website, but in the meantime please send any cheques made payable to "Truro School re Max Levene" to Denise Hodge, 29 Forcefield Rd, Cullompton, EX15 1QB.

The main event

With Albion's main aim this season to be to stay at level two in the league set-up it must be true that the hosts today will be looking at getting through the day without adding to any injury list.

Whilst Albion will be wanting to put on a good show Pirates are not pressured in the Championship and have a real chance of progressing to the next stage in the B&I.

Sam Hocking has returned to Launceston but our old friend Ed Lewsey is still in the line-up. It looks like he will start in his favoured position with the number 9 shirt on his back.

The big chance could be handed to Steve Johns as he has been named on the bench. Steve is a utility back and has also taken kicking duties. He has been on call for a couple of league matches this season but has not yet got passed the water boy duties.

Kyle Marriott has been rested so Kieran may retake the captain's duties.

Visiting Brickfields

If you haven't been to Brickfields before you will be in for a friendly welcome from the club and the home support.

The ground is growing into a great stadium with plenty of food and beverage outlets to suit all comers. You can get anything from a chocolate bar to a four course sit down meal.

Beer and Cider is just £2 a pint up until 2:30pm so arrive early and grab yourself a bargain.

Tickets are available at ticket office for the match but with the largest crowd of the season expected please arrive early to avoid the queues.  Ticket holders arriving on foot or by taxi are advised to enter by the gate by the clubhouse in Dameral Close.

With all corporate areas full for bookings only the Ryearch and Clubhouse are available for covered drinking.  All the normal outside sales will be available.

Click for more details on the ground, menus and enterance prices.
