Pre-season comes to an end
By Lone Ranger

So pre-season comes to an end with a tough encounter against old adversaries Munster. A good performance is vital as preperation for the away GP game against Sale, especially as Cockers is saying that this could well be the same team as plays then.

A pulsating game, if not one of very high quality.
No uncontested scrums, penalty tries from days of old, and a typical last minute try to win the game.
Not bad preparation for the Sale game, but Tigers will need to improve during the season to win much.
If all games end the same this year most folk will be happy.

Very powerful performance from the pack, but the backs looked second rate, to be brutally honest.

Manu's tackle was worth the night alone I under stand it was heard in Knighton!

When the Munster winger's gumshield popped out like an orange pip, I fully expected to see what he'd had for tea. Credit to the guy for putting himself back together without any fuss.

Perhaps someone can explain the aftermath. At first looked as if the touch judge had taken exception to it, but then the ref spoke to someone on the Munster bench. Had he said something untoward? Rosy also spoke to the captains before play resumed.

At least it was legal with arms and not shoulder reminded me of the Dave Lougheed tackle many seasons back total respect to the winger took the hit, took a deep breath and cot on with it... Just imagin Bendy at Bath lord knows he would have been out for weeks!

Conceeded 4 relativily soft scores - defence needs a bit of attention. Forwards looked good (lineout went off when Chuter went off and Mefin came on), backs still learning to play together, running lines etc.
Was good to be back at WR.

Defence was very poor for 3 of the tries, backs (Hipkiss apart) off the pace, forwards pretty good. And Mini Tuillagi's tackle, smashing! (we all thought of Log's tackle in the pub too.)

Two of my grand daughters were there for their second and first match respectively and loved the whole spectacle, hoping to return, but that meant I couldn't curse the defensive blunders nor blaspheme at the basic errors, particularly passing, which was frustrating; otherwise a positive and entertaining run out with much to admire - and good to see the old place again.

Wistfully, porcine aviation; positively Fourth Street.
