Tigers won/lost/drew in a game of high/medium/no controversy.
Un/Fortunately this week the refereeing performance of Alain Rolland was from the Chris White/Nigel Owens stable and this lead to Tigers/Ospreys being un/able to take advantage of their strength in the breakdown/scrum/lineout/forward exchanges.
The speed/slowness of the Ospreys/Tigers ball was telling and meant that the defence were un/able to get to disrupt the attacks at source.
The weather did/n’t help Tiger’s cause, the wind playing havoc/no part in whether kicks went over or not.
Harry and Jeremy played as though they had been together for ever/the first time. Aaron obviously (not) back to full fitness played the sort of game we have all been dreading/longing for.
All/some/none of the penalties awarded against Tigers seemed perplexing/well deserved. Ospreys got away with everything/nothing all day.
On this performance the Celtic nations/RFU really have to take a long hard look at themselves. The battle hardened/weary team that plays hard, competitive rugby for over 20 games a season just to qualify for the HEC is at a great dis/advantage to the team that only has to peak for 9 HEC games.
If this is the best that Wales have got to offer then it bodes well/badly for England’s hopes in the 6N.
Julian White received the man of the match award for:
• The 50m run side stepping Shane Williams 6 times then outpacing him in a straight run before scoring the deciding try
• Not being accused of gouging
• Dismantling the Osprey’s scrummage
• Being the author’s hero
After the match the Ospreys coaching staff were completely gracious/disgraceful in their views and fulsome in their praise/loathing of the Tigers.
Well done to the Tigers/Ospreys and here’s looking forward to the return fixture.
And just in case the site needs extra words to keep it alive, one of my favourite hymns:
Mae d'eisiau di bob awr,
Fy Arglwydd Dduw,
Daw hedd o'th dyner lais
O nefol ryw.
Mae d'eisiau, O mae d'eisiau,
Bob awr mae arnaf d'eisiau,
Bendithia fi, fy Ngheidwad,
Bendithia nawr.
Mae d'eisiau di bob awr,
Trig gyda mi,
Cyll temtasiynau'u grym
Yn d'ymyl di.
Mae d'eisiau di bob awr,
Rho d'olau clir,
Rho imi nerth, a blas
Dy eiriau gwir.
Mae d'eisiau di bob awr,
Sancteiddiaf Ri,
Yn Iesu gwna fi'n wir
Yn eiddot ti.
cyf. John Roberts (Ieuan Gwyllt) 1822-1877
Tôn: Mae d'eisiau di bob awr
(I need thee every hour)
And that little lot played hell with my spell checker.
Just listen to it in 4 part harmony, sang with passion and pride. I even remember the days when the arms park sang several hymns in 4 part harmony raising the hairs on your neck and didn’t need a jumped up tenor with a microphone to hit inappropriate high notes at the end of the national anthem. And that should keep the site alive as its over 500 words.
