A prayer for next season

Some front page filling drivel that could spark comment.

Laws refereed in a comprehensible and consistent way

  •          If the Referee thinks the ball travels forward from the passer it is forward
  •          If the feed doesn’t go down the tunnel, it is feeding
  •          If the player is off their feet they are out of the game
  •          Referees with confidence to back their judgement, assistant Referees with the ability to see, understand and advise properly
  •          Governance support for Referees rather than backing down at the first threat of legal action (a somewhat unwelcome newcomer to our game that seems to accompany those with deep pockets)

  1.        Don’t be afraid to lose
  •          I don’t mean powder puff exhibition basket ball but let’s go for it sometimes rather than playing the percentages
  •          NB this does not apply if we re-sign Ryan Lamb

  1.        A little more thought before the fingers hit the keyboard
  •          Just think how you would feel if you read what you are about to post and the teams were reversed
  •          Sometimes we lose to the better team, sometimes we lose to the team who played better on the day, sometimes we lose to the luckier team and sometimes we win by being all of those too

  1.        Acts of God may befall
  •          Marketing people
  •          Obnoxious trolls
  •          Smarmy money men
  •          Know it alls
  •          Agents
  •          Lawyers

  1.        Snarl, grunt, bite, flair, accusations of cheating and general dislike
  •          Because if we get back there, we will have been successful

And my thanks to Mike for being one of very few who offer to do articles for the site that you all partake in without contributing.
I have even had offers from other clubs supporters !

Is the prayer directed at the smoke or the mirrors?

This pantomime; just put it .. behind you!

One wonders whether the point of this post's resurrection is an encouragement for one of us to write something to keep our site going.
