Mike gives us his appraisal of the season so far - thanks Mike !
A strange old season so far with the World Cup impacting the format and the relentless nature of the fixture list for those playing in the Champions Cup and the league and not even an LV= to provide any respite.
Many sides have had their ups and downs with Saracens and Exeter being the most consistently up and only the international period really causing Saracens any issues.
Saints were early into the wrist slashing camp but are now looking dangerous and in the chase for the top 4.
Wasps too had their slump and are now sitting pretty in 3rd and probably the hottest ticket in town at the moment with their easy on the eye style.
Bath have failed to live up to expectations after last season and all cannot be well in the camp.
Quins again have flattered to deceive and seem to be falling off form at exactly the wrong moment.
Newcastle and Worcester seem to have gained solace from the parlous position of London Irish and have been able to play with some of the pressure of being at the wrong end of the table relieved.
Sale are building and appear to have adopted a let’s build our home form first, that is not to ignore their victory at Welford Road.
Gloucester are another team who were tipped for great things but have delivered less than they would have hoped for.
And that leaves us, Some stunning play in patches but very few 80 minutes have been put together. I would suggest Munster Away, Stade Francais Away, have been our most focused. Delightful parts of games have flattered to deceive as we have left Try Bonus Points unclaimed and then some of the defeats have been appallingly lacking in nous and intensity.
For all of the above sides, win all of the remaining fixtures and things will look rosier (no sheet Sherlock!)
