Inside the Ground
|
Meeting Someone ? It is probably best to arrange to meet under the score board near the club shop as it is impossible not to find the score board. If you have a seat the seat number is allocated and no one else can take it. Therefore you can get to your seat just before kick off. | |
If you are standing it is first come first served so it is advisable to find your spot reasonably early as the vertically challenged may find it difficult to get a good view if they leave it too late. The area around the players tunnel and the halfway line tends to be cornered by a group of die hard fans.
Finding your seat
There are currently three stands in the ground. The Alliance and Leicester Stand at the Welford Road end , The Crumbie Stand and terrace on the west side of the ground and the Next Stand , still referred to by many as The Members Stand on the East.
The stands are divided into blocks with letters. The letters are marked on the relevant turnstile and on the back of each block. There are plans for a temporary stand in front of the clubhouse this season and the Members Stand is due to be replaced at the end of the 2002-2003 season. You may enter the ground at any turnstile.
Toilets
There are a lot of toilets in the ground but queues form at half time. There are toilets in each corner of the ground except by the ticket office. There are toilets under the Alliance and Leicester Stand and in some of the bars. Outside the ground there are public toilets on the corner of Nelson Mandella Park or in front of the Infirmary.
Facilities
There are 19 bars round the ground and fast food stalls. The club shop is the biggest outside Twickenham and sells a wide range of rugby gear , not all Tigers related.
