The highs and lows of supporting Tigers
By Barry Watson-Evans
July 16 2002
As with supporting any team there are always highs and lows, and perhaps the lows make the highs even better. Here are Barry's:
Low points:

#1- Losing to Harlequins in the last game of the 1995/96 league and 15 minutes later hearing that Bath had drawn their game to win the Championship

#2- Parc des Princes, Paris , Heineken Cup Final 2001, when Johnno was yellow-carded, at that point I though we'd lost!

#3 - The Penalty try that decided the Leicester v Bath Pilkington Cup Final 1996

#4 - My one and only 'bad' moment on the Crumbie Terrace..... standing close to a very irate, irritable and aggressive Barking supporter at a Cup game a few years ago. I had never previously, nor have I since (thankfully) felt threatened at any rugby event in over 25 years of attending matches. I regret that on this occasion I did.

High Points: - gratefully numerous, but notably :-

#1 - The Paris Heineken Cup Final v Stade Francais was definately one never to be forgotten!

#2 - Entering the Stadium at Cardiff this year. As a Welsh Tigers supporter I was very moved!

#3 - The Apres match atmosphere in and around Cardiff after the 2002 Final.

#4 - Purely personal this one, please forgive me!... listening to my 8year-old son after every game he attends recounting his favourite moments, telling me who played well, who scored the best try, which player on the opposing side he thought was the best, etc, etc, ..if all the youngsters who attend and support Leicester tigers are as attentive, as keen, and as passionate, I can see their success continuing for many many years!
