Right o everyone... that time of year again! Not only does it kill a few minutes it gives you something to read in the close season… That’s right it’s the END OF SEASON POLL! Have a look at the below and forward your nominations onto only_one_T@hotmail.com by no later than Friday 25th May

 PART I: PLAYERS

1. SARACENS PLAYER OF THE YEAR: Who’d be first name on your teamsheet? The playmaking points machine Jackson. How about the man that makes him look good De Kock.  Saracens stalwart Sorrell or maybe one of the boys doing the grunt work upfront allowing the backs to shine in Yates, Mullet & Raiwalui

Last Years Winner - Cobus Visagie

2. SARACENS YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR:There are several to consider - Superman Mercy, the flying Fijian Ratuvou in his first season, Adam Powell who has the most average gainliness crossed per game of any Centre in the league, Saxons Seymour & Skirving, or maybe someone else entirely?

Last Years Winner – Tom Ryder

3. SARACENS OLD PLAYER OF THE YEAR:The youngsters have an award so it’s only fair that the old boys should get a chance for an award also!   Is it the sprightly 35 year old Mullet who is making a mockery of his birth certificate or maybe his front row pals Yatesy and Cobus?  Young whipper snapper Chesney at 33 has had his best season in a black shirt ever so who is it for you?!

Last Years Winner – New Category

4. GUINNESS PREMIERSHIP (non Sarries) PLAYER OF THE YEAR:Some stand out performers this year, flying opensides Jennings and Hazell have been fantastic. How about one of the old boys brigade down at Bristol, or the Italian front rowers at Leicester, maybe even Quins young backs?  So many to choose from suggests club rugby is thriving

. Last Years Winner - Carlos Spencer

5. INTERNATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR: It’s been a mixed bag this year, a couple of great Irish performances, the French as flamboyant as ever but the Kiwis continue to dominate. Maybe your international players of the year is someone who has helped make one of the lesser lights shine more brightly?

Last Years Winner - Daniel Carter

 6. FAVOURITE SARACENS PLAYER: Do you admire their long flowing locks, like the way they play the game with a smile on their face, or did you meet them and just thought ‘what a nice bloke’…

Last Years Winner - Thomas Castaignède, Cobus Visagie, Kris Chesney

7. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN OPPOSITION PLAYER AGAINST SARACENS: Unfortunately there have been some great performances to pick from, especially in recent weeks - Gilles and Grewcock have taught us lessons in the lineout while Hazell was outstanding as Gloucester thrashed us at Kingsholm, is there someone else that has stuck in the mind for you?

Last Years Winner - Carlos Spencer (Northampton away)

  8. WORST PERFORMANCE BY AN OPPOSITION PLAYER AGAINST SARACENS:Was there one player who had such a mare that you actually felt a bit sorry for him, someone so awful that you wished that he’d be subbed for his own sake?!  I can think of several!  Last years Winner – New Category

9. THE MARTIN JOHNSON MEMORIAL LEAST FAVOURITE OPPOSITION PLAYER AWARD:

no - I'm not sure moderators/editors can make threads sticky once they have been posted. I'm probably wrong, but no way that I can see at the moment. I'll get on to the Publishers Forum.
