Thanks to those of you who took the trouble to submit your votes in the end-of-season poll. This season has thrown up no major surprises. Everyone still loves London Irish, dislikes Leicester, likes a drink at Saints and avoids the food at Vicarage Road. And the BBC comes in for some SERIOUS stick.
PART I: PLAYERS

1. SARACENS PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

1. Kris Chesney
2. Richard Hill
3= Tim Horan, Kyran Bracken

Large's choice: Richard Hill

2. SARACENS YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

2. Ben Skirving
3. Ryan Peacey

Large's choice: Ben Skirving

3. ZURICH PREMIERSHIP (non Sarries) PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

1. Ludovic Mercier
2. Jake Boer
3= Jonny Wilkinson, Jason Robinson

Large's choice: Olivier Azam

4. INTERNATIONAL PLAYER OF THE YEAR:

1. Jonny Wilkinson
2. Richard Hill
3. Carlos Spencer

Large's choice: Martyn Williams

5. FAVOURITE SARACENS PLAYER:

1= Richard Hill, Tim Horan, Kris Chesney

Large's choice: Richard Hill

6. BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN OPPOSITION PLAYER AGAINST SARACENS:

1. Elvis Seveali'i
2. Jason Robinson
3= Simon Shaw, Lawrence Dallaglio

Large's choice: Simon Shaw (Wasps home)

7. LEAST FAVOURITE OPPOSITION PLAYER:

1. Martin Johnson
2. Matt Dawson
3. Lawrence Dallaglio

Large's choice: No Cockerill this year, so it has to be Phil "Dome" Greening.

8. PLAYER YOU'D MOST LIKE TO JOIN SARRIES FOR NEXT SEASON OTHER THAN JONNY BLOODY WILKINSON:

1. Phil Vickery
2= Carlos Spencer, Tana Umaga, Jason Robinson

Large's choice: Phil Vickery

PART II: CLUBS
==============

1. BEST PERFORMANCE BY A SARACENS TEAM:

1. Sale home (league)
2. Leeds home (Wildcard)
3= Colomiers away, Wasps home

Large's choice: Has to be Leeds in the wildcard

2. WORST PERFORMANCE BY A SARACENS TEAM:

1. Irish home
2. Wasps away
3. Bath away (league)

Large's choice: Wasps away. The worst display I have ever seen from Sarries. On me 'ead, son!

3. FAVOURITE CLUB TO VISIT FOR AN AWAY GAME:

1. Northampton
2. Bath
3. Irish

Large's choice: Toulouse by a mile, but in the ZP it has to be Gloucester where I receive the warmest welcome of all.

4. LEAST FAVOURITE CLUB TO VISIT FOR AN AWAY GAME:

1. Leicester
2. Gloucester
3= Bath, Wasps, Newcastle, Northampton

Large's choice: Sale. Goodbye Heywood Road, you won’t be missed by me.

5. BEST OPPOSITION FANS:

1. London Irish
2. Bristol
3. Northampton

Large's choice: Gloucester. The most passionate and knowledgeable in the league.

6. WORST OPPOSITION FANS:

1. Gloucester
2. Leicester
3= Wasps, Newcastle

Large's choice: No one team stands out. Some Leicester fans are arrogant, some Wasps fans smug, some Bath fans boring, some of those at Newcastle and Sale miserable. Overall I think that it would be Leicester, but I hasten to add not all of them.

7. FAVOURITE TEAM (NON-SARACENS):

1. London Irish (why? I can't see it meself)
2. Sale
3. Wasps

Large's choice: For the last time (sob!) - Neath.

8. LEAST FAVOURITE TEAM:

1. Leicester
2. Gloucester
3. Northampton

Large's choice: You have to ask? Leicester.

9. BEST BAR:

1. Northampton
2. Harlequins
3= Leeds, Newcastle

Large's choice: Northampton. Leeds runs it close, but they have too many!

10. WORST BAR:

1= Northampton (!), Leicester

Large's choice: For the worst ambience is has to be Irish and their tunnel. For service, Newcastle is dire.

11. BEST 'SOLIDS':

1. Harlequins
2. Northampton

Large's choice: Tough one. I've eaten all the pies and the best were at Bristol, I think.

12. WORST 'SOLIDS':

1. Vicarage Road
2. London Irish

Large's choice: Irish. Overpriced and undersized portions. By the way, WAS there any food at Newcastle?

PART III: MISCELLANEOUS
=======================

1. BEST CONTRIBUTION TO THESARACENS.COM MESSAGE BOARD:

1. (embarrassing, this) Large
2. How to play...
3= Meriel, RabbleRouser

Large's choice: Tony Taff and his seemingly endless supply of coats

2. BEST SARRIES RUGBY MOMENT OF THE SEASON:

1. Joe Ross' try securing the bonus point against Sale at home.
2. Several contributions from Tim Horan
3. Beating Bristol

Large's choice: Kris Chesney's try against Leeds after Horan's magical flick and Califano's surging run.

3. FUNNIEST ON-FIELD RUGBY MOMENT OF THE SEASON:

1. Gordon Ross and his somewhat interesting kicking routine
2. Olivier Azam running off wearing Kris Chesney's headgear at Kingsholm
3= lots of them, but my favourite of those sent in was the crowd shouting "On! On! On!" when poor old Diego Albanese was substituted in the wildcard game at VR.

Large's choice: Olly and Ches.

4. FUNNIEST NON-RUGBY MOMENT OF THE SEASON:

No overall winner here, but there were several different nominations for Sarrie the Camel and the shenanigans in the restaurant bar that was hijacked by the Fezboys before the Colomiers game. I'm sure you'll all have your favourite moments and that you'll be willing to share them on the message board.

Large's choice: The BBC's Sonia McLoughlin (more of her later) presenting a Lloyds TSB Man of the Match award..... To the Royal Bank of Scotland Man of the Match after a 6 Nations game. I Bet RBS weren't laughing, though!

5. BEST REFEREE:

1. Chris White
2. Tony Spreadbury
3. Joel Jutge

Large's choice: Chris White. (and whoever said Paddy O'Brien, please let me know which Sarries game he officiated!)

6. WORST REFEREE:

1. Ashley Rowden
2. Roy Maybank
3. Alan Lewis

Large's choice: Alan Lewis. Utterly dreadful when we played Leicester at home.

7. BEST MEDIA PERFORMANCE BY A RUGBY CELEBRITY OR BROADCASTER:

1= John Inverdale, Large (you crawlers)
3= Barnes & Morris on the England v South Africa game, Brian Moore

Large's choice: equal billing must go to the oasis in the BBC desert that is the boy Inverdale and to Austin Healey whose performance in the tv commercial for the hair clinic was so cringe-worthy it was superb. Take a bow, Oz!

8. WORST MEDIA PERFORMANCE BY A RUGBY CELEBRITY OR BROADCASTER:

1. Sonia McLoughlin on the BBC during the 6 Nations.
2= The whole of the BBC during the 6 Nations, Jeremy Guscott, Radio Bristol

Large's choice: for an individual it has to be sourpuss Guscott who doesn't see any good in anything or any one and the gang gong goes to Radio Bristol for easily the worst commentary I heard all season.
