The Team really fronted and having watched the DVD on Wednesday night, who would have thought that many people could fit into the room, we deserved the win. The forwards and backs played, as I said on my last piece of waffle for the board, like a team. The movement communication and desire was all there with a true sense that this was a team performance not just down to some wonderful individuals. I will however mention a few players who I thought stood out.

The forwards and backs played, as I said on my last piece of waffle for the board, like a team. The movement communication and desire was all there with a true sense that this was a team performance not just down to some wonderful individuals. I will however mention a few players who I thought stood out.
First of all Shane Drahm, who I admit I am not his biggest fan, really played a blinder. He performed like the player that kept us in the Premiership his first year here and almost knocked us out as a Saint's player. If he is showing us what we will miss next year, please keep it up until the end of the season Shane and you might get the keys to the City.
Secondly the legend that is Tony 'Reg' Windo. That he can still compete for 80mins and not look out of place against people 15 years younger is amazing. The guy should be heralded as the Ultimate warrior and I for one salute you Reg. Throw into the mix that he is one of the nicest men you'll ever meet at Sixways and you have the sum of the man.
Last of all is Pat Sanderson who has had his critics this year, some calling for his head, but he has stood up and led from the front and is showing the sort of form that won him his England caps. Though hands off Ashton our need is greater than yours at the moment. Pat is a perfectionist who once told me he'd rather have no tries scored against him than score them. Well you must be over the moon Pat, with 2 games gone now and no tries conceded.
Right now to our opponents this weekend Leicester Tigers. They are a team that has an array of internationals in their line-up and unfortunately for us the replacements are all pretty handy too. Make no mistakes the Tigers will be coming here for a win and nothing else and they have the players to do it. We will need our forwards, with Reg at his spoiling and harrying best, to disrupt the Tigers and give us an advantage over them. It is possible and if the team play as a unit like last Friday and defend as well we might just pull it off. It will take a massive effort to beat the Tigers, something we haven't done for a while and maybe if we are behind the team, as only the Sixway's Faithful can be, we will see that win.
A quick one on two important points for this weekend: This will be the first weekend at Sixways missing one of our best loved Warriors in Peter Watkins. Though I have only known Peter for the last 3 years he was to me all that rugby was about. He was loyal, vocal in support of his team and friends and above a true gentleman. So I for one will be joining my fellow supporters in raising a glass to Peter on Saturday and please there will be a collection tin on Saturday around so dig deep and let’s raise some money for the worthy cause of the bench in Peter's memory.
My second point on a happier note is that Thinus Delport, one of our favourite Warriors, makes his 100th Premiership appearance and will hopefully lead the team out. He has sweat blood for our cause and has been in my opinion one of our best ever signings. He is leaving us in the summer and I wish him all the best for the future Thinus and 'alle voorspoed vir die toekoms.' Let’s raise our voices in the Thinus chant extra loud this weekend....THINUS, THINUS!
