MORGAN RETURNS!

After months of speculation Wales fullback Kevin Morgan has finally confirmed that he will be rejoining his hometown club Pontypridd at the end of the season.

Morgan was an influential player in Ponty's squad in the late 90's but in the summer of 99 he decided to start a new challenge with Swansea. However, Morgan has been plagued by injury over the last couple of seasons and with Swansea in financial trouble he has decided to return to the club where he has appeared at almost every level from juniors up to the first team.

It is believed that Morgan has signed a three year deal with Pontypridd and despite the fact that Pontypridd will be combining with Bridgend next season he is confident of getting a place in the regional squad.

Competition for places could be tough with Morgan and Brett Davey from Ponty and Gareth Cull and Matt James from Bridgend all hopeful of selection in the regional squad. However, Brett Davey may feel that now is the time to move into coaching or to take a position in the Pontypridd semi professional squad and there have been rumours that Matt James could be on his way out of the Brewary Field at the end of the season.

However, despite injury problems Kevin Morgan is targeting a return to action in September and the fact that he has taken the decision to sign for Pontypridd suggests that he will be given a place in the Bridgend/Ponty regional squad.

WELCOME HOME KEV!
