Pugh To CRFC

Pugh To CRFC
By Andrew Collins December 16 2007
Former London Irish and Ospreys flanker Ritchie Pugh has signed a deal with Welsh Premiership side Cardiff RFC, and made a successful debut in the 62-13 drubbing of Pontypool on Saturday.

At the moment, it's unclear how long the contract is for, or whether Pugh's signing has any bearing on him breaking into the Cardiff Blues set up, but for now the flanker who was recently involved in Dai Rees' Dubai 7's squad, will be donning the famous Blue and Black shirt at the Arms Park.

Cardiff's win sees them move into round 4 of the Konika Minolta cup.

While that move has been confirmed, theArmsPark.co.uk believes former fly half Lee Thomas may be returning to the Blues on a short term loan. The ‘Barry Bomber', who is known for his superb kicking abilities, was seen at the Arms Park during the Blues stunning 31-21 win over Stade Francias, and it's though Lee may be returning to cover the now long-term absence of Nicky Robinson and Nicky Macleod over a busy festive period.

The Welshman is currently not first choice as his club Sale, and stated upon leaving that he would one day love to return. At the moment, this is nothing more than gossip, but remember, you heard it here first.

Nice win for the Rags, probably would have gone up had the firsts not played. Look forward to the draw for the next round.

A great signing but a crying shame he's had to revert to playing average standard rugby again. Lyn Jones has got a hell of a lot to answer for down the ospreys.

Lee Thomas isn't exactly frozen out at Sale, in fact he's playing regularly. Plus, whilst you can make changes to your ERc squad, the new players can't have played for another ERc team that season.

Like to see him back but don't think its likely.
