Cardiff Register Bedwas Win

Cardiff Beat Bedwas
By Andrew Collins December 22 2007
Cardiff RFC continued their storm up the Welsh Premiership table with a pre-Christmas victory over Bedwas at the Arms Park. The Blue and Blacks showed their class in the second half to pick up a valuable victory over the ninth placed side.

A first half performance by the home side that showed their superiority didn't show on the scoreboard, but the final 30 highlighted how far the capitol club have come under Justin Burnell.

The turning point was an Adam Powell try late in the second period in cold conditions, and though the visitors claimed a late try, it was countered by the Cardiff score in the last minutes of the match.

Burnell's side won the match 29-8, and were well worthy of their defecit.

Any of the locks good enough for the blues in case of injury to Tito or Deiniol

WISH I STILL LIVED IN CARDIFF

Well done to the Rags. Not the greatest of games but job done.

In fairness, the line-out was very good, they had Ross Johnson (played for the Blues a few times last year) at hooker and he had a pretty good game.

Not sure i noticed the locks around the park so much, however the front row all seemed quite eager to be wingers!

Not a great game but got the result that mattered.

Can't really say anymore about the 2nd row that hasn't been said in this thread already.

Front row and back row both worked tirelessly without overly standing out.

Was impressed with the Fly Half (Gareth Davies?) when he came on in the 2nd half. Intelligent kicking and a couple of good breaks that I recall.

Leigh Halfpenny's try at the close was a cracker. That lad's got some pace. (Sm116)
