Shaun Edwards To England

Shaun Edwards To England
By Andrew Collins March 11 2008
Wales assistant coach, Shaun Edwards, has been linked to the England job, with pundits expecting current head coach, Brain Ashton, to be sacked by the end of the year. Despite Edwards being under contract with Wales until the world cup, Warren Gatland will let his assistant go if Edwards expresses and interest.

Gatland told the Times newspaper...

"If there are other opportunities for people, if Shaun wanted to coach England and felt that's where his vocation lies, we wouldn't hold him. But would he want the big job? He thrives working with someone who takes front of house [as Edwards does with Ian McGeechan, the director of rugby, in his primary role as head coach to London Wasps]."

This would be quality he is definetly the best Manager and coach in the Northern Hemisphere at the moment.
Brain Ashton has lost the plot, and as per world cup revelations, not getting the full backing of his squad.

Edwards would be able to bring the players back down to earth, this years 6 nations has been awful from everyteam apart from Wales who have really made up for a poor World Cup campaign!

Edwards only signed a contract to the summer of 2009.

If White gets the England job, which is more likely than Edwards after he was overlooked before Christmas for the head coach role and then treated so poorly by Andrew after Christmas, while interested in other roles in the England set up, then i dont think he will appoint Edwards as a coach underneath him. It MIGHT be good news for Wales.
