Gwydion Griffiths
The role has come about following a decline in fans turn-out over the last 10 years and the region struggling to find its feet market wise. Griffiths comes in 2 years too late in my honest opinion, having had 2 appauling seasons of advertising campains, last seasons resembling that of a perfume ad.
One of his biggest challenges will be to win over the local media following years of slatings from Welsh rags such as the Echo and Wales On Sunday.
He will also look to build the Blues reputation in the Valleys where the region has struggled to capture the imagination of Rhonnda Cynon Taff folk.
Griffiths, 33, has experience with marketing Welsh TV Channel S4C. He will take control of all press conferences, and be responsible for informing the media of the lates goings on from the Arms Park.
Something Griffiths will be able to take advantage of is the new media room at the Vale of Glamorgan training facility that the Blues are now using. Itīs likely he will also look to use marketing ploys with tickets and promotions.
His 1st work has proved excellent,http://www.cardiffblues.com reports on Fantastic 4īs Welsh star Ioan Griffudd being a passionate Blue, and pictures him with a Blues shirt, which he later signed and is now available to win!
This is a major appointment which signals the intent by the Blues to become a truely Proffesional Region, off the pitch at last seems sorted, all we need now is to work where it counts, and success is just around teh corner.
