Site History
By Zippy March 5 2007
History of the various iterations of the site since its inception. We're always on the look out for some new writers and contributors to the site.

Red Dragon Rugby - 2003-2004

The 1st Iteration of the site was in 2003 and edited by Lestyn, the site grew from small beginnings and tried to find a niche in the Welsh rugby market. That was acheived through some innovative writing and the regular features which are still going today, Exiles Poetry and Zippy's player ratings.

The State Of Play - 2004-2006

The fanzine was originally formed by Welsh Rugby fan Chris Gough, The State Of Play Fanzine aimed to raise an awareness of regional rugby here in Wales. Chris discussed his ideas with a group of supporters, selected from each of the 5 regional teams and together they created Wales’ first regional fanzine. Unfortunately the work involved in a paper based fanzine saw the fanzine revert to being web based, the site kept this name until the Autumn Internationals of 2006.

Bred In Heaven - 2007-

The URL for the state of play expired and was bought by someone else damn them and we were probably due for a refit anyway. Throughout 2006 Site founder Lestyn had become known for his Sinatra like comebacks and his last act might well be the graphics for the new site, we'll see............

Call For Writers:

Some pointers: - Writers must be opinionated and willing to stand by what they write. We don’t want people to just copy and paste news articles from other rugby sites. - You can focus on the region / club you support - A sense of humour is mandatory. - We’re looking for people who are willing to contribute on a regular basis. If you’re interested please get in touch via the email address above and we’ll ask you to send us an article or two to show us what you’re made of. After that we'll set you up an admin account so you can submit and edit stories directly, with access to images provided by empics. If you have any specialist knowledge (e.g Premiership, regions, rugby fitness) please let us know in your mail, along with any graphical or editing (i.e message board or site promotion). Thanks. All emails to warriorzippy (at) yahoo.co.uk
