Top Story

Rock n roll rugby years (1978) BBC 2 Wales 9pm Friday

Great edition of the show featuring the Welsh grand slam and the final performances in the Welsh shirt from Phil Bennett and Gareth Edwards. In the summer tour we fought with Australia and in the Winter JPR was notriously stamped all over by the NZ Pack and Andy Hayden dived out of the line out. Magical show........

2nd Story

Newport Dragons lose to Leinster 23-22 in a brusing game at Del Boy Parade, the referee Chanolang has still never officiated a game which Newport have won. Not that Paul Turner has noticed!!

Wales lose again to NZ in the semi of the U19 world cup, Cardiff beat Bridgend and Llandovery beat Llanelli in the semis of the Welsh Cup.

Predictions for the next few months............

James Hook will retire after deciding he has done everything there is to do in the game.

The English clubs will literally go to war with the RFU, the players will be used as cannon fodder and the new north stand at HQ will have to be rebuilt.

The SRU have unveiled plans a pyramid money making scheme in order to solve their financial problems, this is after the millions spent on Nigerian gold mines disappeared.

The IRB vote that NZ will have to play a seperate North Island and South Island teams in the world cup to avoid it becoming a precession.

Eddie Butler and Brian Moore announce their engagement and the civil ceremony will be in the summer in Southern France.
