Wales squad for tour of Australia:
Backs: Lee Byrne (Ospreys), Chris Czekaj (Cardiff Blues), Hal Luscombe (Harlequins), Dafydd James (Llanelli Scarlets), Jamie Robinson (Cardiff Blues), Gareth Thomas (Toulouse, capt), Gavin Henson (Ospreys), Aled Brew (Newport Gwent Dragons), Ceri Sweeney (Newport Gwent Dragons), James Hook (Ospreys), Gareth Cooper (Newport Gwent Dragons), Mike Phillips (Cardiff Blues), Andy Williams (Bath).
Forwards: Ceri Jones (Harlequins), Iestyn Thomas (Llanelli Scarlets), Rhys Thomas (Newport Gwent Dragons), Adam Jones (Ospreys), Huw Bennett (Ospreys), Richard Hibbard (Ospreys), Mefin Davies (Gloucester), Brent Cockbain (Ospreys), Robert Sidoli (Cardiff Blues), Scott Morgan (Cardiff Blues), Jonathan Thomas (Ospreys), Gavin Thomas (Llanelli Scarlets), Colin Charvis (Newport Gwent Dragons), Michael Owen (Newport Gwent Dragons), Robin Sowden-Taylor (Cardiff Blues).
Firstly all this rubbish that has been written in the Aussie press such as Bob Dwyer's "It is harming the game and it is certainly harming the finances of the game,” said Dwyer."
What on earth are they talking about??? The squad contains 2 players who are our top box office Hook and Henson, there can't be two players with bigger profiles in world rugby at present.
Secondly the only players left out are those who are nursing injuries or those who have played non stop for over 12 months, England have shown what happens if you flog your players to death.
So if they don't like it sod them, they hardly brought their 1st strenght side here in the Autumn.
Back to the squad itself:
Forwards: Quite an experienced pack and its last chance for a lot of these players so I'm expecting big things from Cockbain, Sid, Charvis and Owen.
Backs: Here when Gyppo has used the opportunity and expect to see Aled Brew get a run, the problem 12 position will also need to be solved by the end of the tour.
No reason why we can't compete in both tests, international careers on the line.
