World Cup Prelude Part 1
By Exile September 6 2007
Bred In Heaven's resident poet and messageboard regular Exile returns just before the start of the rugby world cup with his latest offering. World Cup Prelude Part 1, have your say on his poem on the messageboard along with your world cup views. For details read on
The waiting is over, the warm-ups are done
Next time that we play it's for real,
But we've been so bad the last couple of years
How sure of success do you feel?

Against Canada's men we start our campaign,
A match that we should win quite well
But the same was true, twice in the past,
When Samoa sent us straight to hell.

And then comes the big one if we are to progress
Australia we just have to defeat,
And we saw the talent they have in the backs,
The last time our two teams did meet.

Fiji's the last game of the group stage,
We should win, as most do agree
But our recent form, well it's been so bad
That in truth they all worry me.

So Gyppo and Co. the time is at hand
To show two million Welsh can't be wrong,
We know we've the talent but do you have the plan
To bring vict'ry to our Land of Song.
