The Night Before - Week Four
By Lawrence Aggleton September 26 2008
The upcoming Lions tour has snipped a week off the premiership season so the upcoming weekend's games will be rapidly followed up by midweek games and then the EDF cup the following weekend. This early on in the season I imagine we'll see first XVs both premiership games and second teams for the EDF. It helps that the EDF is ridiculous waste of space of a third-rate competition.
 Meaaaaaaaaaaaaat vs Pests

Wasps have been a wonderfully amusing joke so far this season, played 3, lost 3. So it's little surprise that Danny Cipriani will be rushed back into the side at the first opportunity. Unfortunately for them they'll be missing him and Headbutt Haskell for a trip up to meet the Meaaaaaaaaat. This is the sort of game that you expect Wasps to really get up for, but I just don't see it. Of course, this will be the first time I've predicted them to lose, so what do I know? Prediction: Tigers 5, Wasps 0

Relegated vs Brizzle

Right, well here's the first 8-pointer of the season for the two clear worst teams in the premiership. Bris haven't won a game yet this season, but, to be honest, they could afford to lose this as it's away and Newcastle can't. Both teams have one decent back each - and Jonny Wilkinson will touch the ball a lot more than David Lemi. Prediction: Newcastle 4, Bristol 0.

Tadpoles vs Glozzer

Sale are undefeated, but have not played well. Gloucester have bounced back strongly from an early set back. Sale's not a nice place to go on a friday night, but which Sale will turn up? Gloucester are confident, and I think they'll win this. Prediction: Sale 1, Gloucester 4.

Brilliance vs Boilers

Wuss were unlucky to lose at home to Tigers last weekend (and their new stand looks pretty fantastic). Their back five is fantastic and their number 8 Talei looks pretty damn good too. The big questions relate to their half-backs - are they really good enough for premiership rugby? I'd say no, and while they have a decent enough chance down at The Rec, I don't see it being their day. Prediction: Bath 4, Worcester 1.

Sequins vs Loadsa Dummers

Quins have looked excellent so far this season, despite having a different fly-half in each game. Irish have been... inconsistent at best. At this rate, I reckon Quins will make the top four. Irish will finish their usual nowhere. Prediction: Quins 5, Irish 0.

Watford vs Sinners

Sarries had a hard start, but picked up a good easy win to boost their confidence last week. Saints had a cracking win over Wasps, and are building Franklin's Gardens into a difficult place to visit. Away from home, however, I can't see them picking up too many wins. Without Josh Lewsey giving them two tries, I can't pick them here. Prediction: Sarries 4, Saints 0.
