Biography: Iestyn Thomas followed the long line of Gwent born props to play for Wales, making his debut against Samoa in the Autumn of 2000. The previous Summer, then at Ebbw Vale Thomas had made a big impact on Wales' development tour to Canada and USA.

Pontypool born Thomas's lack of mobility has hindered his international chances, but remains one of the strongest scrummaging looseheads in the Celtic League.
