Difficult race in Singapore
By Karl King September 28 2008
Bollywood stars Imran Khan, Sonam Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty (pirctured) were on hand to provide some special support in what was clearly going to be a very tough race for Force India. After locking out the last row of the grid in qualifying, the team were going to have to hope for some dramas in order to improve their position.

What the team wouldn't have wanted, though, is to be the cause of one of the said dramas themselves, which is what happened ten laps before the end of the race when Adrian Sutil stuffed his VJM01 into the wall. With the tight nature of the Singapore track, the safety car had to be deployed for the second time during the race.

The first safety car came out after Nelson Piquet's accident, and amidst the chaos that persued, Giancarlo managed to pop up in third, the highest position an FI car has ever raced in. By the end of the race, though, Fisi had fallen back to 14th and last place, noting that he "had a small problem".

In what I feel was a successful first night race for Formula 1, Fisichella was pleased with his performance while Sutil was naturally disappointed, however both are looking forward to Fuji where the team, in its previous guise of Spyker, scored its first point last year.
