HAPPY BIRTHDAY - TO ALL POSTERS & VIEWERS
One year ago Investigations of a Dog (Justin) - Southampton RFC) inspired me to run with this small project, we now all know and love as the Unofficial England Rugby Union website - powered by Sportnetwork.net.
Over this last year we have had some wonderful magical moments, in particular England winning the Rugby World Cup and more importantly we have made some wonderful friends on the way. None more so than our Rogues Cafe Message Board folk full of moonshine and banjos.
Yes, one year ago England got off to a good start with a win over New Zealand Maori in New Plymouth. England's second string showed their superior pack and bowled the Maori away. England beat Maori
and then England beat New Zealand 'All Blacks' with a Historic win Down Under in Wellington! It was England’s first success against the All Blacks in New Zealand for 30 years, and set a new England record of 12 successive Test match wins. Jonny Wilkinson acting as a rapier swordsman with his boot. Historic win for England
and then England took on the Wallabies in their own backyard in front of a capacity Australian crowd baying for blood and beat them in a momentous match. What a performance by both teams, end to end stuff. Australia v England Match Review

and then that FINAL! 22nd November 2003 will be etched on an English Rugby Fan's Heart forevermore!
And so then...........on the 44th day of battle King Clive of Woodwoods and the English Knights entered the Telstra Fortress and the peasants (that's us)! lined the hillside all around - we held our St. George's flags aloft waving and singing
Then silence as the young pages sang the World in Union Anthem, their beautiful voices rang out around the battlefield bringing tears to the eyes of all.
The English Knights led by General Jonno stood side by side amidst the banners of St. George and sang proudly as they ventured into battle for this final time.
The charge rang out and England and the Wallabies rallied against one another, and 6mins into the battle Wallaby Larkham sent up a huge bomb to the corner of the field and the Wallaby peasants went wild as the ball was caught by Wallaby Lote Tuqiri and he struck at the heart of England's try line but Wallaby Flats was unable to convert. Much more of this here Eng v Aus Match Review!

What a wonderful year of English & European Rugby we have had, please let us all now stand and raise our glasses for the toast..................
