The Hong Kong Rugby Football Union has announced ticketing arrangements for the 2005 Rugby World Cup Sevens, to be held in Hong Kong from 18-20 March.

To ensure that local and international sevens supporters are properly catered for a three-tranche ticketing scheme has been initiated covering the local rugby community, the many other Sevens supporters in Hong Kong and international visitors.

Ticket prices for the event are the same as for the Rugby World Cup Sevens held in 1997 - HK$1,000 for adults and HK$350 for children of 12 and under. Corporate suite and box prices will reflect these changes to the general admission prices from the usual Hong Kong Sevens.

Local spectators and enthusiasts will be able to obtain tickets by joining any Hong Kong rugby club, details of which can be found at www.hkrugby.com, each paid-up member entitled to two tickets.

The Hong Kong RFU's social club, The Rugby Union Club, is also open to overseas as well as local members, and details can also be found at the above website.

Overseas rugby fans will be able to obtain their tickets through a number of appointed Official Travel Agents (OTA's - click below), and sponsors Cathay Pacific will also be able to assist in their various overseas outlets.

Children’s tickets will only be available in Hong Kong and will not be sold overseas.

Online ticketing services will not be available for the Rugby World Cup Sevens 2005.

John Molloy, Chairman of the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union said: “This year’s ticketing scheme has been put in place to ensure that both local rugby supporters and international Rugby Sevens fans will have ample opportunity to get their tickets.

"The past four years of the Hong Kong Sevens have all seen the sell-out signs posted and the Rugby World Cup Sevens is expected to generate an even quicker ticket sell-out."
