The PRA teams up with Mercedes-Benz

The Professional Rugby Players Association (PRA) today announced it has signed a two-year partnership with Mercedes-Benz. The deal will provide all 450 current members from the Zurich Premiership with exclusive rates on selected models across the Mercedes-Benz range.

Chief Executive of the PRA, Damian Hopley said: “This agreement is another example of our ongoing commitment to our members, and we are delighted to have a partner of such stature as Mercedes-Benz working directly with the players. The PRA shares a great synergy with Mercedes-Benz’s reputation for quality and reliability and this partnership is indicative of the professional service that we will continue to offer our players.”

As part of the agreement, Mercedes-Benz will continue to sponsor the PRA Mercedes-Benz Young Player of the Year Award at the end of season PRA Rugby Players Awards Dinner being held on May 11^th in central London . This award is currently held by Bath and England ’s Olly Barkley.

Mercedes Car Group Sales Director Simon Oldfield added his endorsement to the deal, which complements the existing benefits offered through membership of the Association:  “It is great for Mercedes-Benz to have a formal connection with the PRA, and to be able to provide its members with a wide choice of models from our range.  This partnership is another example of the enduring commitment the company has made to rugby over recent years.  We are particularly proud to continue sponsoring the Young Player of the Year Award, and helping nurture the next generation of great British talent.”
