Martin Johnson’s Rugby Camps 2005

The former England captain is launching Martin Johnson's Rugby Camps for budding young players.
Five venues across the country – in Warwick, London, Newbury, Bristol and Newcastle – are hosting the three-day courses launched in a joint initiative between the Rugby Football Union and the World Cup winning England captain.
Martin Johnson’s Rugby Camps aim to teach both boys and girls between the ages of 11 and 18 what it takes to be a winner, and give them the tools to build a lifetime of success in the game.
“They’ll be enjoyable, good fun and a chance to learn a massive amount about the game,” said Johnson.
“I’ll be there, England international players will be there, and so will the RFU staff coaches. Whatever age you are I hope people can learn a lot from them.”
The training includes warm-up, conditioning and nutritional sessions; handling and running skills; individual clinics on positional skills, specialised work on scrums, lineouts, restarts, kicking and counter-attacking, and conditioned games.
The itinerary is designed by leading rugby development officers and the RFU coaching team to ensure each child is steered through the three-day course with the opportunity to thrive and develop a broad range of skills – both physical and mental – which they can use on and off the pitch.
