England's Martin Johnson - Summer Rugby Camps Round Up

Well a great time was had by all it seems and many of the Camps were sold out.  The youngsters all seemed to have a great time and the ones I chatted to at Newcastle all gave the same verdict when asked,  "did you enjoy that"  - I got a resounding yes it was Great!

On speaking to Peter Janes who helped to organise all of the events up and down the country, Peter confirmed the camps had been a great success and next year they are planning to do more  around the country 10 in all!  So Watch this space as he has promised to let me know the dates for next summer.

All venues hosted three-day courses launched in a joint initiative between the Rugby Football Union and the World Cup winning England captain.

The training included warm-up, conditioning and nutritional sessions; handling and running skills; individual clinics on positional skills, specialised work on scrums, lineouts, restarts, kicking and counter-attacking, and conditioned games.

The itinerary was designed by leading rugby development officers and the RFU coaching team to ensure each child was steered through the three-day course with the opportunity to thrive and develop a broad range of skills – both physical and mental – which they could use on and off the pitch.
