England Saxons vs Canada
England Saxons run out for their second game against host country Canada in the Barclay's Churchill Cup this Saturday 10th June 2006.
Of course the whole of England will be watching a totally different match that day, may we all at Unofficial England Rugby wish the England Football Squad the very best of luck in the FIFA Football World Cup 2006.
Back to the Rugby, after a very iffy performance and loss to the Bravehearts last weekend, England needed Canada to beat Scotland in Ottawa. However, that was not to be as Scotland A booked their place in the Barclays Churchill Cup final with a tight victory over Canada in the early hours of this morning.
So we can only hope for a better second performance from the Saxons ( is this a fated name I wonder?) The forecast is for a dry day, so they should not have nay complaints unlike last weekend.
England Saxons Head Coach Jon Callard has included Higgins in a pacy back three alongside England Sevens winger Richard Haughton and London Irish full-back Delon Armitage.
Higgins, who came off the bench in last year’s Churchill Cup final, said: “I am really excited about this weekend. Delon and Richard are full of gas so we have some pace there. Hopefully it will be dry so we can get our patterns right and the ball out into space and take advantage.”
