Phoenix 21-0 Hessle
By Tony
September 18 2006
Rotherham produced their best performance of the season so far to knock out Yorkshire 4 side Hessle (21-0), from the Yorkshire Vase. A brace of tries from Jamie Morris, one from Andy Stewart and three conversions from Tom Jenkinson saw Roth dump Hessle out of the Cup.

A strong first half display, against a team tipped to do well in the division above, gave Roth a first half lead of 14 points.

Rotherham went further ahead early in the second half with their third converted try and then withstood a strong onslaught from Hessle in the last 20 minutes with a solid defensive display.

Next Saturday Roth start their league campaign with a home game against Hemsworth.
