Rotherham on the move

Composure was the key for Rotherham as they looked to string two back to back wins together. During a first half where Rawmarsh had a strong wind behind them; Rotherham showed a strong display of defensive co-ordination that saw Rawmarsh camped in Roth’s 22 but to no avail. Roth’s forwards held there own against a larger pack with better body angles and technically superior play. In the dying minutes of the first half Roth finally got their hands on the ball and their dangerous backs cut Rawmarsh to shreds, which resulted in a try in the corner for Captain Jamie Morris and took Roth into half time trailing by one point 6 - 5. The second half however was a more one sided affair as Roth stepped up a gear and out classed the Rawmarsh backs. Roth’s running lines and angles were excellent, coupled with a pack of forwards giving a platform that provided the quick rugby Roth has become accustomed to. This was the first match where Roth has given there all for 80 minutes and team manager Dave Trueman believes that, "We have reached a turning point." Things are looking up for a young side with plenty of potential.
